Exciting Times Ahead!

Hello everyone, my name is Rebekka Read, but many call me Bekka, and I am so excited to start my year of service through the YAV programme in September. I come from the North of Scotland and will be serving in New York - a bit of a change from the Scottish countryside!!

My journey to faith has been a slow burner to say the least. I have grown up going to church on a Sunday, but it wasn't until a few years ago where I took matters into my own hands and started an Alpha course. From there, I accepted Jesus into my life and haven't looked back!

I have just finished my university degree with a Masters in Physiotherapy. However, over the last year of my course, I started to notice God calling me to a different path. I felt such a passion for mission and serving God, and was sure God had something else in store for me, other than physiotherapy. I was told about YAV programme and this felt like something for me, and so I applied and the rest is history!
